THE PRETERITE TENSE
*the preterite is the past tense used to express a completed action at a definite point in the past.
Regular –ar verbs:

Stem-changing verbs:
*stem changers are those which have a change in both the present AND the preterite tense.
These changes only occur in the third person singular and third person plural forms.
